FilAmFest 2009

FilAmFest 5* - Saturday, October 3rd
Year five of the Filipino American Culture and Heritage Festival promises be the biggest and best cultural festival in San Diego! The festival will bring the best entertainment and the best food in a festival quickly becoming the cultural celebration to be at! Silk Road is on the team with the hardest working committee to ensure this is the best cultural festival you will experience. Be a part of the excitement of the Philippines without leaving San Diego!

"Honoring the Past, Building the Future." The theme of this year reminds us to recognize and remember our history as Filipinos and Filipino-Americans and using that knowledge to shape a pathway to a better and brighter future.

The Goals of FilAmFest are:
* to foster a sense of community and enhance pride in the Filipino cultural heritage
* to build inter-generational collaboration and cultural understanding among children, youth, and adults;
* to promote effective networking among individuals and various groups representing businesses, civic organizations, local government, educational institutions and public agencies; and
* to revitalize the Paradise Hills community as a place to raise families, operate businesses and collaborate with diverse peoples, groups, and institutions.

Expect the best of the best on two stages of entertainment, a food row with ethnic food fares from the Philippines and beyond, interactive vendors, a health fair, an education forum, a kids area, and so much more! The fifth year will be the biggest celebration yet!
