8th Annual Economic Development Conference 8th Annual Economic Development Conference* - Monday, October 17th  Workshop panels will include a Homeownership and a Small Business Owner session. These are meant to give insight, advice, and an opportunity to network with other business owners, corporate executives, community leaders, elected officials, and more! The annual economic development conference brings together the leaders in community, business, corporate philanthropy and government regulators in an effort to empower the Asian American community. We are honored to announce this year’s keynote speaker, The Honorable Sheila Bair, 19th Chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Also speaking will be California State Treasurer Bill Lockyer, Assemblymember Mike Eng, and Assemblymember Fiona Ma. Since 2004, the National Asian American Coalition has been a voice for our community on a wide range of issues from education, homeownership, job creation and wealth building.
